How it works

Bookkeeping CLI connects to your e-conomic agreement using e-conomic's official API. When you click "Grant access", you authorize Bookkeeping CLI to read your accounting data. No passwords or secret tokens are shared — e-conomic handles authorization securely.

  • Bookkeeping CLI app — Our app is pre-configured. You do not need to create your own app or manage any API tokens.
  • Your authorization — When you click "Grant access", e-conomic issues a token that gives Bookkeeping CLI read access to your specific agreement. You can revoke this anytime.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1

Log in to Bookkeeping CLI

Go to bookkeepingcli.com and log in (or create an account). Navigate to Dashboard → Connections.

2

Click Connect

Find the e-conomic card and click "Forbind" (Connect). You are taken directly to e-conomic's authorization page.

3

Click "Tilføj app"

Make sure you are logged in with your accounting agreement in e-conomic. Click "Tilføj app" (Add app) to grant access. You are redirected back and the connection is saved automatically.

Use with Claude.ai (MCP)

You can also connect directly from Claude.ai without the dashboard:

1
Go to Claude.ai → Settings → Integrations
2
Add MCP server: https://www.bookkeepingcli.com/api/mcp
3
Log in and authorize — Claude discovers the connection automatically
4
Start asking Claude about your e-conomic data
Permissions
You need superuser or administrator access to your e-conomic agreement to grant app access. If you are not a superuser, ask your e-conomic administrator to click the authorization link on your behalf.

What data can you access?

Once connected, your AI assistant can read the following from your e-conomic agreement in real-time:

Invoices — Draft, booked, unpaid, overdue, and paid invoices. Download invoice PDFs. Create and book new invoices.
Customers — Full customer list, contact persons, customer groups, and totals (revenue, balance, outstanding).
Suppliers — Supplier list, supplier groups, and supplier details.
Products — Product catalog, product groups, and price lists per currency.
Chart of accounts — Full account plan with account details, groups, and balances.
Ledger entries — Line-level postings per account, period, or year. Account statements (kontokort) with date, amount, voucher number, and text.
Periods & totals — Monthly or custom period totals per account. Debit, credit, and balance breakdowns.
Orders & quotes — Draft, sent, and archived orders and quotes.
Journals & vouchers — Journal entries, vouchers, and voucher attachments.

Departments — Department list and departmental distributions on entries.

Managing access
You can view and remove connected apps anytime in e-conomic by going to Settings > All settings > Extensions > Apps. Click the X icon next to a token to revoke access. You can also disconnect from the Bookkeeping CLI dashboard.
